Daisy Meadow Car Park - Moving to Pay on Exit
Heybridge Basin Parish Council is pleased to confirm that Smart Parking has been reappointed to operate Daisy Meadow Car Park under a new Pay on Exit system.
Once the new system is installed, motorists will no longer need to pay for their parking before leaving the car park. Instead, payment will be made when exiting, based on the length of stay.
We appreciate that this is a change from the current system and want to ensure users have plenty of notice.
The date for the installation and changeover has not yet been confirmed. We will provide further information once the works are scheduled.
Please note: there is no change to the current parking arrangements at this time.
HEYBRIDGE BASIN CAR PARK - PARKING TARIFF INCOME
We would like to clarify that all income generated from the parking tariffs at Heybridge Basin Car Park is retained by Heybridge Basin Parish Council and not by Smart Parking.
The introduction of parking charges was necessary to ensure that the Council can:
✅ Cover the ongoing maintenance costs of the car park.
✅ Offset the business rates to prevent this financial burden from falling on Heybridge Basin residents.
✅ Reinvest any surplus income back into our village for the benefit of the community.
We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us maintain and improve our local amenities.
